My story

Five years ago I was the client.

Five years ago, I was the exact un-disciplined chubby b*stard most men aged 30+ in this generation are. Lazy. Fat. Unhealthy. No confidence. Stuck in the same b*llshit routine of working all week and living for the weekend.

My name’s Ollie. I’m 35 years old, and for most of my adult life I haven’t given second thought about my health, body or wellbeing with no direction at all. I worked hard, went out on the sesh every weekend, took drugs Thursday-Sunday, ate sh*t, and convinced myself that “one day” I’d get in shape and leave this miserable life behind.

My 30th birthday

I can’t actually remember where I had my 30th birthday, but I do remember I was in a pub. Drinking, taking recreational drugs, and pissed off. Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday night, occasionally Sunday too. Smoking weed daily. Diet atrocious. Overweight for most of my childhood, and now the same at 30.

When I hit 30 and realised I had nothing worth having in life, I looked at the man I’d become and knew something had to give. Nobody was going to do it for me, nobody really gives a sh*t other than you. I made my decision. I went back to the gym, stopped eating sh*t, committed to training hard everyday, and became disciplined for the first time in my life.

The first time I felt proud

It was a very small moment. The first time I saw the top four abs show through. I hadn’t seen that since I was 15. Fifteen or sixteen years. That was the first time I was proud.

The result wasn’t only the body I wanted, the biggest change was my mindset. That’s why I started ACE Training. Not because I’m better than you but because I’ve lived the miserable existence you and many other men are living right now. I know what it feels like to wake up feeling and looking like sh*t, hating the man staring back at me in the mirror. I know what it’s like to say “I’ll start on Monday.” But I also know what it feels like to finally feel proud. Something every man needs to experience.

Why I still have a coach

Support, guidance, accountability. Even with the knowledge, we doubt ourselves. Coaches doubt ourselves too. We still get days where we’re not motivated, days where we struggle. Self-coaching can’t give you accountability, can’t give you support, can’t give you that positive feedback and that drive. That’s why I still pay for one.

Why this matters

With men’s mental health as bad as it is and too many men struggling saying nothing to anyone about it, I want to be part of the solution to that. I help men aged 30-55 build more than just an elite level physique, I help people change their lives like I have. Too many men chase the feeling of being “happy”, biggest load of rubbish. Try gaining confidence, discipline, self-respect, and the feeling of being proud of yourself. That’s better than “happy”.

Ollie Hewlett five years ago, and now, in the gym

It's never too late.

My mum was a complete beginner at 68. She’d never really used a gym before. I showed her exactly how the machines work, what a gym looks like, how you work your way around it, gym etiquette, how to execute the movements. Never having been to a gym is not a problem.

Ready when you are.
